Indonesia Chairs Earth Summit Preparatory Meeting
 
NEW YORK, April 30 (Oana-Antara) -- Indonesia Monday chaired the first preparatory meeting on the Earth Summit scheduled to take place in Johannesburg, South Africa in 2002.

Indonesia's former environment minister, Prof Emil Salim, appointed to chair the preparatory meeting, is here to lead the session being held at the UN headquarters from April 30 to May 2.

Besides Salim, the Indonesian delegation also included Indonesian Foreign Affairs Ministry's director general for foreign economic relations, Makarim Wibisono, who is also the country's former permanent representative to the UN.
