Welcoming party for new home-staff members, 18 January 2003

Staff members of the Permanent Mission, their families and Indonesian community in New York welcome the arrival of 3 new home-staff members and their families. The new staff members are : Mr. Sigit Wardono, Mr. Andy Rachmianto and Mr. George Lantu. Mr Sigit Wardono will become the coordinator for Operational Activities, Social and UN Administration; Mr. Andy Rachmianto will deal with First Committee/Disarmament Issues; while Mr. George Lantu will cover UN Revitalization Issues. The welcoming party was held on 18 January 2003.

 

Dialogue with the Indonesian community in New York , 17 January 2003

Within the framework of promoting a multiple-track diplomacy and of developing a forum for an exchange of views, the Permanent Mission organized an informal gathering with the local Indonesian community in New York at its offices on 17 January 2003. This first meeting of the progamme received an enthusiastic response, and the programme will be repeated on a periodic basis.

 

Exchange of Views between the UNDP and the Indonesian Mission

Within the framework of monitoring the follow-up programmes of various agreements concluded in numerous international fora which is considered an important aspect of the duties of the Permanent Mission, a meeting was held with the Director of the UNDP, Mr. Alvaro, and his staff on 10 January 2003 at the Mission. During this exchange of views, the UNDP Director elaborated on the follow-up measures following the Johannesburg World Summit on Sustainable Development in 2002. This session, which lasted for more than two hours, generated a very lively and interesting discussion on a subject matter that is close to Indonesia heart.

 

Employees of the Year 2002

The Mission selects best general staff, best secretary, and best chauffeur among the local staffs at the end of each for the purpose of improving performance and accountability. At the end of each year The Permanent Mission confers the best local staff award in 3 categories, name ly the best general staff, best secretary and best chauffeur. This year Mr. Handiman was selected as the best chauffeur, Mr. Lazuarman Masri as the best general staff and Mrs. Editha Santos Coloso as the best secretary.

 

Open House for Indonesian community in New York

The Charge d' Affaires of the Indonesian Mission to the United Nations / Deputy Permanent Representative, Ambassador Slamet Hidayat and Madam Hidayat held an open house at their residence for the Indonesian community in New York on the occasion of Idul Fitri, December 2002.

 

2002 Christmas Celebration

Indonesian Mission annually celebrates religious activities to promote social harmony among its people, including 2002 Christmas Celebration.
